Rather than claiming the necessity of avatar portability, I think we should look at more humble but still ambitious and unsolved problem: the definition of a common language for mapping virtual spaces and universally referencing places and objects located within them. In other terms: How could I pretend to teleport my avatar and its entire inventory of scripted objects from one world to an other, if, at date, I can’t neither reference places or objects across worlds?
